In physics (specifically} mechanics and electrical engineering, angular frequency ω (also called angular speed) is a scalar measure of rotation rate. A full description is available in Wikipedia - Angular frequency.
The inclusion of the term in Newmars Wiki is to identify the basis of the mathematical nomenclature in the Mars Metrology section and related sections used to define the base units that are used for scientific purposes.
