Intro
Project Prometheus is a project by NASA to develop nuclear reactors for space. It has applications for nuclear electric propulsion, powering a mars base, powering instrumentation for deep space probes to the outer planets and military applications. The first major project planed to incorporate Nuclear power in space is the Jupiter Icy Moon Orbiter (JIMO) .
