Russian rocket, first flown in 1987. It's made of two stages, the first on being composed of four strap-on boosters (kerosene & liquid oxygen). The second stage it's the core itself (liquid hydrogen & liquid oxygen). Its launch sites are at Baikonur.

Payload:

  • 95-100 tons to 51-degree LEO
  • 18 tons to GEO
  • 32 tons to the lunar transfer
  • 28 tons to Venus and Mars

Payloads: Buran and Polus.
