Mars Sample Return

A Mars Sample Return (MSR) mission would return Martian regolith to Earth for study. Plans for a NASA mission in 2000 were cancelled after a series of disasters. NASA and the ESA are currently funding research towards a mission planned for sometime next decade (2010-2020).
