Universal time is mathematically derived using the methodology described in Scientific units. The time unit has an absolute value of 1 when defined at the cosecant of 45 degrees. The time unit duration is a function of the cosecant of the angle.

The Earth second, as defined by SI, is approximately 1.5986183 longer than the universal time unit.

The Universal time unit satisfies the scientific requirement that it be universal, permanent and invariant in time. Being mathematically derived it is not based upon an astronomical defined time duration or technological limitations of assigning hyperfine transition counts.
